Social Experiment

Several years ago, while walking along the Florida beach, Les and I noticed how people were in their own little world and never acknowledged anyone when they walked by. We decided we would make eye contact, and smile, and give them a greeting. It could have been "good morning"- "good afternoon" a simple "hello" etc. We were bound and determined to try to get at least 50% of them to acknowledge us. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't, but we tried and we still do to this day. We thought we might have more luck on GI traveling the bike path. We would walk or ride our bikes and believe it or not...our hometown didn't fair any better than the walks in the sand. Sometimes, the person coming towards us would actually beat us to the punch and we would have to respond to them. It's a game we still play...and enjoy. It's easy to be in our own little world, but try to make someone else's a little friendlier. These little things we are doing are helping us realize one aspect of making 2010 a great year and that is trying to find a little Happiness in every day.
